Saturday~

marisa, heather, and ashlyn

Spent a glorious (and pampering) day with my family – yummy brunch, shopping at The Mall of Greatness (without the kids), and Mom treated me and Sis to an afternoon at a new nail spa for a deluxe pedicure. *Ahhhhh!* My chubby feet absolutely LOVED it!
I spent the rest of the hot and lazy afternoon napping, watching TV, and knitting.

Welcome Home, Wil!

YAY!….Wil’s finally home from her week-long business trip. We caught a up a bit over dinner at Sushi Maru downtown. Poor girl was pretty tired, and we called it an early night.

Ashlyn barely got in a nap the whole day (10 minutes in the car doesn’t count). After dinner, I gave her bath and tucked her into bed early.

Sunday~

I’ve had this stupid cold for 9 days!…and I’m still congested, constantly blowing my nose, and continuing to cough up a lung.
Haven’t been sleeping well at all. The sides of my belly ache from coughing so much, and it feels as though I’m slowly “pushing” the baby downward. *Yikes!*

This morning, my parents took all their granddaughters out. I dropped in a couple of loads of laundry and spent the day resting at home.
Sis spent the afternoon with me on the couch. We watched “Kill Bill: Vol. 1″ on DVD (my 3rd time this week, not by choice).
By the time Ashlyn got back, we took a nice long much-needed nap.

Tonight our entire family went to dinner with Auntie Lisa and Uncle Edward. We had tons of food and fun!

*Yawn!* Turning in early tonight. Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Phoenix Boa

Bett gave me this yarn. I would have never chosen this particular color or variety…and now I’m convinced that I really lack creativity and style. I need to venture away from what I consider “safe” colors -blues, blacks, white, reds, pastels, or any combination of those…and become more daring. Otherwise, how would I have known this would turn out to be one of the prettiest scarves I made! *sigh* So depictive of my own fashion sense (or lack thereof). THANKS, Bett!

    YARN:

Bernat Boa in Phoenix

    LENGTH & COST:

142 yards at $8.20

    MATERIAL:

100% Polyester

    NEEDLE:

Bamboo 10″, Size 11

    PEG’S 2 CENTS:

This yarn is beautifully silky and “feathery”. Really easy to use. The vibrant color and lustrous texture makes this look and feel more like a boa (hence the name) than a scarf.
