PHOTO JOURNAL

I think I’m still recovering from last weekend and the eventful days that followed. Nevertheless, my heart continues to feel the warmth and happiness from all of it.

It all began last Friday night with Wing and Emily’s wedding rehersal and dinner. Not only was it a glorious reunion for the wedding party, but I was reunited with Wil, Tony, my nieces, and NorCal friends! I stayed at the hotel and had a chance to spend some quality time with everyone.

On Saturday, though a long day, I was blessed to be a part of one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever attended. Wing and Emily’s wedding was perfect in every way. The ceremony was especially emotional for me. It’s no surprise that I cry at every wedding, but witnessing the bride and groom (both who are very dear to me) come together to love and join lives moved me to uncontrollable sobs. Must make for an entertaining wedding video. Afterwards, I had to redo my entire makeup and reapply the false eyelashes that were not strong enough to withstand my flood of tears. hehehe

The reception, dinner, and party that followed was incredible! The bride and groom looked breathtaking. I dub them the “Asian Ken and Barbie”…she’s the quintessential girly-girl and fashion plate, he’s the tall studly metrosexual, and together they embody perfection: the dazzling smiles, the snazzy threads, the cute townhome, cool cars, etc…all they need now is the Barbie jet, corvette, and Skipper to complete the package. Shit, I know WAY too much about “Barbie”. HAHAHA!
I simply had the best time that night! Things couldn’t have been more flawless. Both kiddies were totally angelic and had a grand ol’ time. Summer never fussed or cried (even when she was exhausted). Ashlyn, acting more like a bride than a flowergirl, was such a charming little social butterfly and ended up dancing the night away with the groom. HAHA! I got my drink and groove on with friends (old and new). I owe a lot of it to my handsome Aric, who cared for our kiddies both nights while I was busy. He’s awesome! Let me say again…I simply had the best time!

Sunday, we were invited to celebrate a post wedding brunch at Em’s parents’ house. Once again, it was a NorCal gathering, and I felt selfishly guilty for having so much fun.

i *heart* these people!

After brunch, almost all the NorCal folks headed to the airport to go home. Aric, the kiddies, Sarah, Parkin, Baby-J, and I came back to our place for a little downtime before going out for an early Valentine’s dinner with our friends.

It was our first group dinner that didn’t include our kiddies. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. I brought Aric’s nice camera and we played around with it, but I wished I had taken more pictures…especially of our yummy food. I must have been hungry because I took two photos of the first course and that was it.

Sarah, Parkin, and Baby Jasper stayed with us from Sunday to Wednesday. It was such a treat to be able to spend so much time with them. I don’t think I spent that kind of time with Sarah since before Summer was born. I loved every minute of it! …especially with Baby Jasper! He is so precious…his tiny fingers and toes, his cute lil’ face and wide eyes, his muted cries (that Sarah thinks are loud, but aren’t)…*sigh* I miss him already. I got to share three whole days of his newborn life, and I feel so special. Being with him makes me want another baby.
Both Ashlyn and Summer absolutely love him, and with their residual coughs, I had to constantly bark at them to “step away from the baby!”

On Tuesday, we met up with the happy newlyweds for lunch (they’re now enjoying their honeymoon). They are too cute for words and I’m so happy for them.

The house seems quiet even though the kiddies are loud. I haven’t been up to much since Sarah left on Wednesday.
Tonight Aric, the kids, and I went to the mall to return my Valentine’s Day gift from Aric. I had a few days to mull it over and decided to return it. My hubby spoils me. He got me this…and for the life of me, I can’t get myself to keep it and feel good about it. I’m a freak, but a part of me can’t help but calculate how much I can get for the same price.
If I kept it, it would be the most expensive outfit in my closet…AND it’s sweats for gawd’s sake! *shake head* No thanks.
Hope I didn’t offend the hubby too much. HA!

So…that’s my update. I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch of things I wanted to write about. I have mush for brains these days.
Tomorrow is Friday already! *YAY!*…and a long weekend no less. *thumbs up* Have a great one!
