Peg’s Journal

Aric, the kiddies, and I drove back Christmas evening and got back a little after midnight. Despite the steady downpour of rain during the first 3 hours of our roadtrip, our drive was nice and smooth.

We had a really wonderful visit….spending time with family and friends, constantly surrounded by good food, fun company, and lots of love, laughs, and cheer.

Highlights from our visit:
- being with my nieces and sis again
- holiday celebration with dear friends (and seeing baby Jasper and baby Aidan):mrgreen:
- visiting and paying respects to Rudy
- Chew’s birthday dinner at PPQ (sans kiddies)
- our traditional family Christmas Eve party
- the insane amount of overly generous presents gifted to us
- being able to sleep in almost everyday (thanks to my parents and awesome cousins)

The morning after we got back (Monday), the kiddies and I got to open more gifts….ones left under our small Christmas tree by friends and Aric’s family.
This year, both Ashlyn and Summer got enough toys and art supplies to last them a lifetime. Ashlyn got an over abundance of “Barbie”, “Princess”, and “Hello Kitty” stuff. While Summer got pretty much EVERY “Dora the Explorer” toy on the market. But the gift they were most blow away by was the shiny new pink Princess Roadster given to them by my father-in-law and Netty. OMG….sooooo spoiled!

I really don’t expect presents anymore…but I continue to get so much cool loot every year. Of course Aric spoils me the most….on a regular basis. This Christmas, he got me an iJoy Lounger. IT TOTALLY ROCKS!!! Gosh, I’m so spoiled lucky!

Trying to get the house in order before the new year….an impossible task. Our kiddies got too many toys for our little home. *sigh*
