patti, grace, and peg

I’ve been spending the last couple of days over at Grace’s….in hopes of lending a helpful hand with cleaning, meals, and just keeping her company as we anticipate the arrival of her 4th baby (her due date was today).

Of course, Grace totally disregards my request to relax. If anything, she tends to do more than if I were there. Yesterday wasn’t as bad since it was just me and Summer. But today, Patti, Karis, and Joshua joined me, Summer, and Ashlyn. It was a full house…with lots of craziness, screaming, crying, and cranky kiddies.

I really don’t know how she does it. Grace is always so energetic and strong. When I recall the last couple of weeks before Summer’s birth, I was constantly exhausted, impatient, achey, and whiney.
But then again, Grace is “SUPEROM”. She makes motherhood look so effortless. She’s truly my inspiration…and whenever I’m having a bad kiddie-day, I think of her and suck it up.

Damn, I’m so tired. If she doesn’t go into labor after the day we had, I’m not sure what will do the trick.
Wishing and praying for a smooth and painless labor, delivery, and recovery!

friends

My friends are so awesome!….I just love love love love love them! 7 of them came down to visit last weekend.
Bett was the first to arrive Friday night. Aric, the kiddies, Bett, and I had yummy Korean food at Light Town House in Garden Grove. Afterwards, we hung out at home… playing with the kids, watching DVDs, and catching up. The rest of the posse (who drove down), got in about 3:40am. I think I finally got to bed at 5am.

On Saturday, we had lunch at Pat & Oscar’s. By afternoon, half of us went to Sam’s Birthday Party and the other half went shopping.
Once again, Patti threw Sam a Top Dog party. After our big lunch, I found myself eating again….I couldn’t resist! The hot links were lethally spicy! hehehe
It was cool having Bett and Wil with me at Sam’s. I know most of the time, they see what I do and who I hang out with through pictures, but to actually be there, mingle with my SoCal friends, and experience it for themselves was great.
By evening, we met up with the posse for a late dinner at Honda-Ya! We celebrated Aric’s graduation (again) with tons of yummilicious grilled skewers and a pitcher of brew. *clutch belly* OMG! I SERIOUSLY ATE ALL DAY LONG!
Again, we stayed up late watching DVD/TV till late.

Sunday morning, my girlfriends whipped together a delicious brunch before they left. As always, saying goodbye was hard…especially for Ashlyn (who cried a river). *Lil’ Drama Queen* Luckily for us, Bett’s flight wasn’t until later in the afternoon. A GREAT BIG THANKS to Bett, Mayu, Sarah, Parkin, Jasper, Ivy, and Wil for coming down. Next time, Disneyland!

Although I got very little sleep and ate WAY too much, I had the best weekend! I feel so blessed to have such awesome friends. Having 3 full bathrooms are a plus…but other than that, we’ve always enjoyed communal living. Or as Ashlyn calls it: living “squeezy”. “

***Just cranking out a quick post as I’m sitting at Grace’s computer and keeping an eye on 4 kids (Lauren, Taylor, Summer, and Erin)…..sorta. hehehe***

grad-day

I’m still trying to recover from Aric’s Graduation and Father’s Day weekend! Family and friends gathered on Sunday to celebrate, watch the World Cup, and eat fiery buffalo wings (and other tasty bar foods). Fun was had by all!

My heart continues to burst at the seams with happiness and pride at the mere thought that Aric no longer has classes! HOORAY!!!

tokyo drift

Tonight Aric, Ed, and I went to the movies again….this time without the kids. We got pre-screening passes to see “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift“.
I never saw “2 Fast 2 Furious”, but I did find this movie much better than the original “The Fast and Cheesy Furious” (which I also saw for free at an advance showing 5 years ago). I’m not really into these types of movies, but the drifting/racing scenes were totally amazing!

With Justin Lin directing, it was cool to see Sung Kang and Jason Tobin (both of “Better Luck Tommorow” fame) star in this movie. Yeah, Sung Kang is HOT! I think I’m totally infatuated. hehehe I found myself dangerously attracted to Han (incidentally, was his character’s name in both “Better Luck Tomorrow” and this movie). Wooooh! *fan self* The hip-hop soundtrack and beautiful girls disguised the weak storyline by making it seem like one long music video.

Aside from watching the movie with Rhys Millen in attendance, it was also very cool to see Ed’s racecar and our friend Toshi in the movie.

cars and girls

Tonight Aric, Ed, and I took the girls to see “Cars“. An excellent movie!…one that kids and adults alike will enjoy.

I love ALL Disney movies, but my favorites are the ones that Pixar cranks out. This one really takes the cake though. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for, fool?!
