I used to keep Ashlyn and Summer’s barrettes in a plastic container. But in order to find a matching hairclip, I had to empty the entire container out on the counter. It was kind of a hassle. Then I saw a cute ribbon thingy hanging in Lauren’s bedroom that kept all her barrettes/clips in order, and was totally thinking, “I can make that.”

And I did!

In fact, I made a bunch. Does anyone want one?….anyone?…anyone?…. Amy, Carolyn, Cyn, Dina, Evangeline, Gracie, Jenni, Julie, Nikki, Virginia???

Heard that they retail at the hair accessories kiosk for $12! But I’ll give it to you for FREE. hehehe  Let me know.

my girls

What?!…I can’t believe it’s already Thursday! This week is just flying by. Our days have been spontaneously eventful…and our weekend & Independence Day was full of fun, family, friends, and fireworks.

Friday:
- visit and lunch with Glenda
- dinner and Disneyland with Sue, Olivia, Patti, Karis, and Joshua

Saturday:
- errands and home improvements

Sunday:
- lunch with the in-laws
- Kenny Loggins concert and Fireworks Spectacular at the Hollywood Bowl

Monday:
- errands and home improvements

Tuesday:
- lunch, dinner, and fireworks at the in-laws

We’ve been doing lots of stuff around the house….cleaning, organizing, improving. We spent a small fortune at IKEA for shelving, bins, frames, and these:

As well as setting up a new salt-water aquarium (*sigh* don’t ask about the old one…it’s heartbreaking) and a new fresh water tank. Now we have two 24-gallon Nano Cubes set up, but no fish yet.

Whenever we have a day free of plans or obligations, I’m not content to just sit around and do nothing. I’ll always find ways to keep us really busy. Why do I do that? *shrug* In anycase, home improvements were long overdue….and there’s still much to do around here.
