What the…?! I can’t believe it’s already August! The last few weeks have been incredibly busy for us….when we weren’t chest deep in spring summer cleaning and home improvements, we were filling every free moment with errands, shopping, taking the kiddies out, and visits with in-laws and friends.

Last weekend, we took another quick NorCal trip…there and back within 48 hours! Crazy!
In a nutshell: drove up Friday, got to my parents’ by 4am Saturday. Saturday, we had lunch with my family, took the kiddies and Marisa to Happy Hollow, had an awesome dinner with family and friends, then hung out with Bett and Wil till 4am (as Aric, Chew, and Wing installed running boards on Bett’s new ride in the garage). Sunday, got up at 7am, particpated in a line dance performance for the Taiwanese Athletic Tourney at De Anza College, had lunch, then drove back home.

Aric and I hardly got any sleep…but as always, it was super fun and totally worth it. The times spent with my family and friends are so priceless…general affection by surrounded loved ones and countless moments of hilarity. We like to hug and laugh a lot!

Yesterday, after what felt like months of being separated from my daily companion, Summer and I went to visit Grace. She’s finally at the end of her month-long recovery. Itty-bitty baby Matthew is absolutely angelic, and Lauren, Taylor, and Erin look like they’ve grown since the last time I saw them. It was great seeing Grace again. Boy, did I miss her!

Today, I spent the day with Julie. We had lunch and took the kids to the park and water fountains. The weather was beautiful…sunny but not too hot. I really enjoyed hanging out with Julie, Alex, and Ana. It’s a wonder that this was only our fourth meeting….they make me feel like I’ve known them so much longer. They are the coolest!

A couple of weekends ago, I got to hook up with another cool friend. Though this was only our second meeting, her warm hug instantly made me feel like I was in the company of an old friend. We had so much to talk about, but not enough time. Ashlyn and Summer had the best time with Winnie ah-yee and Lil’ Jasmine.

Anyhow…after renting two dumpsters, a whole lotta cleaning, throwing out, donating, reorganizing, redecorating, and assembling of shelving, cabinets, and bins, the house is finally starting to take shape. My arms are so sore, my legs are so bruised, and oh my aching back. hehehe
Our next project is painting the upstairs (kids’) bathroom and replacing the bathroom light fixtures.

The rest of this week looks pretty packed with almost no downtime. But it’s all good.:mrgreen:
