After picking Ashlyn up from school, our afternoons usually look like this:
12:00pm - lunch
1:00 to 2:30pm - homework/worksheets and reading

2:30 to 3:30pm - drawing, painting, playdoh, floam, crafts, or baking

3:30 to 4:00pm - clean up and snack
4:00 to 4:30pm - computer time, games, or toys

4:30 to 6:00pm - kids’ nap (and peg’s downtime)
The pictures and videos were taken yesterday. As you can see, our days are not very exciting….but it definitely keeps me busy.

That sounds like fun! I can’t wait to “bake” with N. She seems to have an interest in kitchen things, but I hate big messes so I’m holding off. I love love love the Pillsbury Holiday sugar cookies. They’re my favorite! The girls get a nap rather late, at least in my book, do they still manage to go to bed at a good hour? J doesn’t take naps, there’s no time for him
but N if I can get a nap in her I prefer it to be anytime before 3PM, otherwise she’ll be bouncing away well into the night when I’m supposed to have my downtime.
peg: yeah, the nap is a bit late, but they won’t go down any earlier. sometimes they don’t nap at all…just lay there giggling and snickering for an hour.
even with the late nap, they’ll still go down at at their usual bedtimes.

You’re such a great mom! I love schedules! And the fact that you fill the girls’ schedule with such academic, artsy, techy, filled fun they’re going to be so well rounded and super duper bright (not that they’re not already) when they grow up. Not to mention diciplined.
I loved all your pictures to match the times of day.
peg: i miss the days when the tv was on 24/7 and the kiddies would just play, eat, and sleep….it seemed so much easier. hehehe i’m a slacker-mom by nature. but i really had to put a stop to all that after ashlyn started kindergarten, because i realized that it didn’t give her a good foundation for school. hopefully they will become well rounded, bright, and disciplined. *cross fingers* thanks for your encouragement!

Aww, it may not be exciting to you now, but it’s a wonderful record of the times you spend with your girls that you’ll be glad you can look back at years from now!

See, you are supermom! That is so awesome that you have them on a schedule yet fit in fun stuff like crafts and baking cookies. That vid clip of Summer was just too precious. Made me want a cookie too but that’s besides the point. She’s such a cute lil clown and has the powers of persuasion esp. when she wants to be carried or a piggy back ride!

i didn’t know that naps continued into ashlyn’s age. hope that’s true–naomi’s already starting to shorten her one nap to 45 minutes and sometimes skipping it altogether.
peg: ashlyn probably doesn’t need a nap, but her mood is definitely better at dinner if she has one.
