Many of my girlfriends and fellow webbies started knitting and/or crocheting a while back. Initially, my interest was peaked, but I never got around to going to the craft-store…blah, blah, blah, and we moved overseas, and I didn’t think much of it thereafter.

Wil, Ivy, and Sarah's scarf skills

The first week I moved back to my parents’, Wil, Sarah, and Ivy presented me with scarves they had made over the holidays. This ain’t your granny’s typical ol’ scarf, mind you! These scarves were gorgeous! Incorporating new techniques and luxe materials, knitting/crocheting made a come-back in a HUGE way….and once again, my interest was peaked.

Imagine my glee when Bett surprised me with a knitting starter-kit last night…complete with two pairs of needles, a simple instruction manual, a skein of bright yellow yarn (for practice), and a skein of white chenille yarn (when I get better). *squeal!* YAY! I’m so excited! Ivy went over ‘casting on’ and basic ‘knit stitch’ with me, and I practiced for a good hour or so. It was a bit tricky at first, but now I’m hooked! Let’s see what I can crank out.
