Just sharing an old video (taken December 2006):

Every Wednesday evenings we meet with Ed and Olivia for dinner. Sometimes we’ll catch a movie, but we usually end up going to places where the kids can run buck wild.

Not sure where we’re heading tonight, but it should be fun.

After picking Ashlyn up from school, our afternoons usually look like this:

12:00pm - lunch

1:00 to 2:30pm - homework/worksheets and reading

making cards

2:30 to 3:30pm - drawing, painting, playdoh, floam, crafts, or baking

baking cookies

3:30 to 4:00pm - clean up and snack

4:00 to 4:30pm - computer time, games, or toys

laptop fun

4:30 to 6:00pm - kids’ nap (and peg’s downtime)

The pictures and videos were taken yesterday. As you can see, our days are not very exciting….but it definitely keeps me busy.

I’ve gotten this from a few friends, so I thought I’d share it….it’s so funny!

Her accent is really good…and the skit’s conversation is a pretty accurate account of what happens to me at the nail salon.

I had a really exciting weekend! Being the big-mouth that I am, I can hardly believe I was able to keep quiet all this time. Now, it’s safe to announce that my BFF is going to have a BABY!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

wil, bett, and peg

I flew up Friday night. Tony picked me up and we met up with Wil, Bett, Chew, and his friends for a late night nosh at Straits Cafe and drinks at V Bar. I never had the opportunity to experience the nightlife at Santana Row…and it was very interesting (to say the least). Normally I would be saying, “damn, I feel old”…but this time was an exception. After grabbing a corner booth and settling in, we realized the crowd was much older, and very random…almost as if we stumbled upon someone’s company party.
Drunk people are fun to watch. The couple sitting on the couch next to me were deeply engaged in tonsil-hockey. I’m not a prude, but I’m not used to seeing so much PDA since my college years. Then their female friend (lady #2) returned…and she straight straddled the guy, and then they began making out. WTH?! Did I mention that they were ugly unattractive? Yeah, the two women resembled a homelier version of my old chinese school teacher, and the fella looked like the goofy roommate of Hugh Grant in “Notting Hill”. *bite lip* It was not pretty, but we couldn’t help but stare. We watched as lady #2 stumbled from men to men flirting, falling onto our coffee table, knocking over drinks and votives, as lady #1 tried her hand at damage control. At one point, lady #1 slapped lady #2 on the cheek and scolded her in chinese for drinking too much. HAHAHAHA! Ahhhh, good times.

patting the belly

Saturday, we had Bett & Chew’s baby shower. It was such a joyous event: beautiful venue, glowing parents-to-be, proud family and friends, yummy food and desserts, fun games, and so many cute gifts for the lil’ peanut. I’m really beside myself with excitement and happiness! I can’t wait till the little guy is born…I’ve already forewarned Bett, but I’m going to spoil the baby rotten!

bff

The shower was such a great success. I had so much fun. It’s always great spending a day with my girls! A warm heartfelt THANKS and big HUGS to Sarah, Ivy, Wil, and Em for all your hard work! I love you guys!

After the shower, we hung out with Sarah for a while before heading into the City for dinner at Houstons with Chew and his friends.

a warm welcome home by my kiddies

I flew back early on Sunday. After Aric and the kiddies picked me up, we went straight to my father-in-law and Netty’s. We had lunch with Aric’s grandmother, went grocery shopping, and hung out till after dinner.

It was such a treat having a weekend ALL to myself…in NorCal again (two weekends in a row), seeing my folks, being with my girlfriends, sharing a bed with my little sister, and generally having a grand time.

Aric and the kiddies had the option of going with me, but they chose to stay so they wouldn’t miss out on Karis’ birthday party. Fun had by all.

Nov 20

We had a good weekend. No big plans…just played it by ear (for a change).

We spent Friday night hanging out with friends (dinner and karaoke).
Saturday, we had lunch and shopped. Aric never ceases to amaze me with his patience and ability to peruse places like Michael’s and JoAnn’s for hours on end (helping me pick out ribbon, no less). Then I attended a “Trinket & Treasures” party at a friend’s house…picking up a sap bucket and a white antique washed wire napkin holder. Tres shabby chic! Saturday night, we took the kiddies out to dinner and then to the buck-fifty theater for a showing of “The Ant Bully”. Unlike restaurants, Summer can sit incredibly still and quiet at the movies.
Sunday, we ran some errands, had lunch, then spent the rest of the afternoon/evening visiting the in-laws. My father-in-law is looking and feeling much better.

I forgot to take pictures over the weekend. But here’s a clip of Ashlyn, entertaining herself during the car ride to her grandfather’s house. If you watch “Little Einsteins” on Playhouse Disney, you’ll know what she’s singing (the intro to the show)…otherwise, it just sounds all gibberish-y. hehehe

always the clown

*YAWN* Today was such a looooong day. I spent 6 hours walking aimlessly at South Coast Plaza. It would have been great if I wanted/needed to shop….but my car was being serviced at Sears, so I was stranded. The kiddies and I hit up every kids’ store, busied ourselves with crafts at Santa’s Village, and rode the carousel. Despite all that, the kiddies weren’t happy. Summer was really cranky and Ashlyn was really restless. She kept saying, “We’ve been here, like, forevers! This is sooooooo booooooooring!”
It was exhausting.

By the way, I *heart* the show “Heroes”! Love love love it!
