Because my nieces didn't have school today, Sis, Heather, Eva, and I took the kids to Paramount's Great America. I'm loving the weather lately. It been real hot and sunny...so I'm taking advantage of this time to get rid of my pastey fair skin and get some color. My legs are so white that it almost looks blue. hehehe I slathered the baby with sunscreen, then decided to put some on myself as well. I burn easily. Cin often teasingly brings up the time I got burned through my clothes while watching Matty play baseball. Yeah...every summer, I get that initial burn before I start to tan. Anyhow, we had a blast! I rode two rides - The Demon (my childhood favorite) and some spinning ride that made me feel a little queasy...other than that, I sat with Ashlyn and watched everyone's bags/cameras while everyone got in line for coasters. Sis felt bad and offered countless times to sit with Ashlyn so I could ride, but the plain truth is....I've turned into a coward. The rides that once thrilled me now freak me out. It must be all those stories of coaster malfunctions and accidents in recent years that turned me off of it. Better safe than sorry, right? I think another reason is just having Ashlyn in my life...I can't be as reckless as I used to be. Sis agreed. She said she was the same way before, but now that her kids are all grown up, she's back to her old adventurous self. I watched in horror as she, Amanda, Christel, and Heather got on DropZone. *zoiks!*

The park wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be. My nieces and cousins were able to ride all the good rides before we left. I was pretty tired and fell asleep in the car on the way home. Something about sitting in the sun all day that leaves you feeling drained. And even with the SPF-50, my shoulders and back still managed to get burned. =P

I met up with Wil and Tony for dinner at Pasta Pomodoro, then hung out at their place afterwards. Wil baked us cookies and we watched "Training Day"....halfway through it, Wing came over to join us. The movie was pretty good. It was different seeing Denzel play that part ...a part most fitting for Samuel L. Jackson. hehehe I was surprised to see Macy Gray, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre in the movie, too. =)

*yawn* I'm tired.
