HAPPY BIRTHDAY to STACEY!

For someone whose future is as bright and beautiful as her heart ~
Always wishing you the best!

Today was another quiet day. But that's not to be mistaken for having nothing to do though. Ashlyn keeps me really busy these days....ever since she started being mobile. I run around so much and become so worn out towards the end of the night, I can't wait to go to bed...gradually my bedtime becomes earlier and earlier. =P
Sad to say but I've been told by several people that I look "tired". Gee, thanks. =T

I still can't work on my webpage on my super-fast computer. *sigh* I dread the several pages of journals I need to backload...and if I don't do it soon, I won't want to do it at all. =/ Aric did installed some other stuff on the computer last night which helps. I finally got around to uploading all the pictures from my visit...and I also got around to replying to some emails (Beth, yours is coming...sorry).

I get A LOT of junk mail. I don't even know where they get my email addy from, but it's really annoying! A lot of it is solicitation for herbal drugs, home loans, dirty X-Rated stuff *shake head*, and newsletters, coupons, promotions, etc. I got something from Sina titled, "Why Did Pauline Commit Suicide?" and instantly, I felt a weird sadness...

Pauline Chen (circa 2000)

I wouldn't have even thought twice about the newsletter and deleted it...if I didn't know her.
I suppose I don't really know her, but I've met her before. In 1998, when I went to Taiwan with Joyce, Sarah, Liz, and Stacey...we had dim sum at Sogo's with Joyce's friend, Jason. Jason was dating Pauline at the time, and she joined us for lunch. Being naive Americans, we were not aware that she was a celebrity (most famous for...ahem, adult natured films) and we barely spoke to her. She was pretty quiet....almost brooding. I just remembered that she didn't eat meat, had capped teeth, had a rose-band tattoo on her left wrist, and was tall. She left lunch early to catch a flight to Hong Kong. After that chance meeting, I seemed to notice her pictures in the Chinese paper and magazines (isn't that what always happens?...when you're made aware of something, it tends to pop up everywhere?). Anyhow, it was reported that she attempted suicide several times before. I guess she succeeded this time. The really sad part about the whole thing is that she left her newborn child. *deep sigh* Sad.

Tonight was spent in front of the tube watching, "Smallville" and "Dateline". That's about it.
