HAPPY BIRTHDAY to OLI!

(Oli and Ivy at Ann's Wedding -September 2002)
To one of my favorite baldies~ Sorry for missing your birthday two years in a row.
May your birthday be filled with the kind of happiness you bring to so many!
We miss and love you lots!

Also...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Briflys!

Today was a fun day. Ashlyn and I got up early...spent the morning watching her favorite PBS shows and playing in our room.
For lunch, Wing, Ashlyn, and I picked Emily up from work and ate nearby at Daphne's Greek Cafe. I never had Greek food before...and now I know why...they're famous for their gyros and I don't eat lamb. So I picked a chicken kabob plate that was pitifully skimpy. I think Emily, Wing, and I left feeling pretty unsatisfied.

Emily works at Oakley's corporate office in Foothill Ranch. Just driving up to the compound was amazing. It looks like such a fun company to work for....cool building, great perks, a bunch of young hip peeps. Emily took us to the employee store, and Wing and I did a bit of shopping. I picked up a couple of shirts for me and Aric, and I got some cool mesh sweat pants. The best thing was that we didn't have to pay the price of retail stores. SWEET!

Afterwards, Wing and I went to look at model homes (one of our favorite pastimes). We looked at Aldea in the Oak Creek area of Irvine. Cute lil' bungalow-type homes...but the asking price was a bit much for what you're getting. Mid $300K for the smallest plan (approx. 1, 030sq. ft.) No thanks.

We stopped off at Tapioca Express for drinks and a snack, then picked up some groceries for dinner at Ranch 99. Ashlyn had a big smelly poop at Tapioca Express. I had a feeling when I saw her face turn red from pushing. =/ I had to change her in the backseat of the car. Since we were heading home, Wing suggested that we just wait till we got home...but I couldn't bare the thought of her sitting in it more than she had to. He'll understand once he has his own kid....or maybe not. hehehehe

Wing and I lounged around playing with Ashlyn and watching "Trading Spaces" and "While You Were Out" on TLC before starting dinner. Tonight we kept it simple...nothing fancy, just chinese homecooking. We made steamed pork loaf, bitter-melon with black bean sauce, 5-spice stewed beef with daikon, garlic spinach, and rice. Then watched "Fear Factor" and "The Last Castle".

Ashlyn's top right front tooth just broke skin. So to date, she has four teeth coming in (upper and lower central incisors). It's causing her some pain...I can tell by the way she cries and rubs her tiny fists on her mouth right before she goes to bed. Poor doll! =(

Right now Aric's studying for school, and I'm ready to crash out! Pooped, I tell ya! G'Nite!
