HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my One and Only, ARIC!

Photo-collage of Aric growing up. What a cutie! Those big glasses crack me up. HAHAHA!
Celebrating this day and EVERYDAY you touch our lives
with your smile, friendship, love, and laughter.
I LOVE YOU!

I don't know why, but I didn't sleep well last night. Ashlyn (for some strange reason) woke up at 5am, and asked for milk. That sixth sense thing occured again...I instinctively woke up a couple of seconds before Ashlyn sat up in her crib. It's weird and unexplainable.
Anyhow, right after she finished her milk, she threw up in her crib. *ARGH!* I turned on the lights and proceeded to change her crib sheets. She was happily running around our room playing. After the linens were changed, trying to get her to go back to sleep was tough. She was wide awake and started asking for "Barney". In my half-asleep/tired-ass delirium, I was cursing the purple dinosaur under my breath. I started feeling like it was brain-washing my child. She's so addicted!...it's like crack for toddlers! *grumble-grumble*
It took an hour to get her to fall back asleep. I was grouchy and impatient. The bags under my eyes might as well had "Samsonite" printed on 'em. =/

Today was a quiet day. The weather sucks...it's been raining off and on. I didn't bother trying to go to the gym this morning because Ashlyn's runny nose got worse, and the Daycare has strict rules about bringing in sick kids. =(
I just spent the morning doing a few loads of laundry and cleaning up our room. The smell of vomit still lingers. NASTY! The rest of the day was spent playing with Ashlyn, surfing the web, going through mail, and gabbing on the phone.

Tonight I had reservations at The Melting Pot for Aric's birthday. The Melting Pot is really nice (much like La Fondue in Saratoga). The decor is simple, but classy...cherry wood paneling against cozy dark booths with dimly lit votives, and French paintings adorning the walls.
The rich aroma of red wine, garlic, and cheeses fill the air. The wine list makes up for 5/8ths of the menu.
Aric and I indulged in their Fondue for Two Special with Filet Mignon, Lobster tail, Chicken breast, Ahi Tuna, and Scallops entree. The Cheddar Cheese fondue appetizer was really tasty....as was The Original Chocolate Fondue dessert (complete with a platter of sliced fruit, marshmallows, pound cake, brownie, and cheesecake. YUM!
The whole dining experience usually takes approximately 3-4 hours. No kidding. You have four courses, and have the pleasure of cooking the entree yourself (which is the fun part). hehehe I love all the different dipping sauces. We ate fast since Ashlyn grew impatient sitting in the highchair. Even though we rushed through dinner, it still took 2 hours! Ashlyn was pretty good up until the last 15 minutes. =P
Peg: "So did you like dinner?"
Aric: *smiling* "Yeah, thanks."
Peg: "Cool." =D

It's nice to surprise Aric with something out of the ordinary once in a while...even though I know he would be equally happy with King Taco. hehehehe

Once we got home, we put Ashlyn down for bed and folded laundry as we waited for her to fall asleep. I'm feeling rather sleepy too, but my tummy's uncomfortably full. I have to let my food digest before I go to bed. =)
