*zoiks!*..it had spread!
This morning I woke up to find that Ashlyn's rash had spread down
to her fingers and toes and covered her entire head and face! It looks
worse than it probably is because she doesn't seem to be bothered
by it at all and it doesn't seem to itch. But dude....it looks awful!
The rash covers her whole body so that you can't even tell if she's
got a rash...her whole body is just PINK.
I took Ashlyn to her Doctor's appointment, and we found out the culprit
behind this rash is her antibiotic. She's allergic to Amoxicillin/Penicillin.
So the Doc said to throw out the remaining prescription (aside from
residual phlem, her lungs pretty much cleared up), and to continue
giving her Benadryl. Her rash should clear up in a few days. Ashlyn
also got two shots today for her 18-month wellbaby. *OWIE!*
She
slept the whole afternoon. The shots and the Bendaryl made her pretty
groggy. It's sad seeing her so tired and cranky. She didn't mess up
the family room the way she usually does. She laid there looking miserable
and sedate. =(
Tonight
we met up with Aric's cousin for lil' William's birthday. We at at
Claim Jumpers in Tustin. I swear, we rarely go to Claim Jumpers...but
in the past 3 days, we've been there twice!
After Ashlyn's long nap, she was terribly grouchy and emotional...she'd
cry whenever Aric and I looked at her...so I didn't know how we'd
make it through dinner. Once we got there, I warned everyone about
her mood and just told them to ignore her. After half an hour passed,
she was back to her old self.
Can I just tell you how much Aric adores his little girl? When she's
not feeling well, I could tell that it bums him out. I kept telling
him that it'll pass. But he'll do everything he could to make her
happy again. What a nice daddy. I'm not as nice. I figure her bad
mood will pass...and if it doesn't, *shrug*..."oh well".
I don't find it necessary to dote on her every whim...she might become
high-maintenance. HAHAHA! Don't ask me what my angle in parenthood
is...I have no idea. But I do think consistency in love/affection
and discipline is key though.
Dinner
was good. I think Aric was hungry because he asked if I wanted to
share The Ore Cart (which consists of a heck of a lot of meat- beef
ribs, pork ribs, tri-tips, and half of a rotisserie chicken). I got
full off the side salad and barely put a dent into my half. It'll
be my lunch tomorrow. hehehe
It's always fun hanging out with Eleanor, Nathan, and William. Eleanor's
cousin (whom I met at William's birthday last year) also joined us,
and it was great catching up with her and her girls as well.
I
missed tonight's steamy "Smallville", but luckily, my brother-in-law,
Patrick, recorded it for me. He's hooked on it, too. =D hehehehe
Darn!
I forgot to get my free cone at Ben & Jerry's tonight. Oh well,
I'll just hit up Baskin Robbin's tomorrow for their free ice cream.
hehehehe
