06.09.03 Today was a quiet day. The weather turned cold as rained off and on. Ashlyn and I stayed home. I cleaned up around the house, reorganized the linen closet, and did laundry while Ashlyn played with her toys and watched her shows. I think both Ashlyn and I are still recovering from our eventful weekend. =) The blisters on my leg finally errupted. I'll spare you the details of the disgusting crap that oozed out. *YUCK* Now the blisters have dried up and scabbed over, which is a good thing. The pain is pretty much gone, and is now replaced with uncomfortable itchiness. I'm constantly applying the prescribed ointment and gobs of Cetaphil lotion. Hopefully this thing will be all healed by next week. Ashlyn has been actively climbing over all our furniture. She especially enjoys climbing in and out of her playpen. I nervously watch as she stands proudly (but unsteadily) relishing new heights. She's totally fearless...but that soon changed after she took a nasty spill off the couch and hit her face on the corner of her train. Her right cheek painfully puffed up. Aric put some ice on it to reduce the swelling....and now she's sporting a scrape and bump on her face. =( *OUCH!* Tonight,
Aric, Ashlyn, and I spent a nice quiet evening at home. Aric and I
decided to disassemble the train set and put it away. It was taking
up too much space in the living room and after Ashlyn hurt herself,
she didn't want to play with it anymore anyway. Regardless, we often
"hide" Ashlyn's toys from her and bring it out at a later
date to keep it new and interesting. I noticed that kids tend to get
tired of things easily.
