HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Ray and Connie!

Yep, today's my birthday.

Today was very low-key. We had lunch with my in-laws and Patrick at Lone Star BBQ & Saloon in Tustin. After lunch, we shopped at Costco, then came home.

While Ashlyn napped, Aric and I tended to some more home improvements, cleaning, and organizing.

Tonight we grabbed a late dinner at Islands. Mmmmmm! Came home, watched TV: "Celebrity Justice", "X-Files", "Trading Spaces", Discovery's "Living with Tigers", and "David Blaine's Street Magic".

This birthday made me realize just how "OLD" I've gotten in the past year. I used to be "IN THE KNOW"...hip to the styles and fads, the music, the lingo, the movies, the latest and greatest. But now...nada. When I listen to my nieces talk, the feeling of mutual excitement, giddiness, and understanding is now replaced by alarm, worry, and stuffy disapproval. My strong inclination to swearing like a sailor is now reduced to "Oh crap!" Speeding is a thing of the past...as well as the thrill of horror movies and roller coasters. Platforms or heals?...nope, it's flip flops and wedge sandals now. Oh, and check this...I think Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love" is a new song (and I'm sure it's so played out by now). =P
It's official...I'm over the hill. *slap forehead*
