Happy Friday! Early this morning I dropped Ashlyn off with Grace, and went to my last dentist appointment. This visit was not for any real dental work...today's appointment was for cosmetic reasons. I got my teeth professionally whitened!
In the past, I've used Crest White Strips, bleaching trays, paint-on whiteners, etc...and nothing seemed to show significant results or improvement. So imagine my excitement when I discovered that this was a one time in-office treatment with instant results! *WOO-HOO!*

Vanity does have a price though. The in-office whitening treatment is expensive and the process is lengthy and uncomfortable. I normally have sensitive teeth, so this process can become quite painful (as it heightens sensitivity). I sat through three 20-minute sessions which includes a gel application and UV light directed at the teeth. Toward the end of the second session, I was squirming in my seat as I felt burning on my lower lip and aching on certain teeth. The last session was torturous...but I got through it and have a nice white smile to show for it. I probably wouldn't do this again though. =P
As always, my dentist and his entire staff were amazing. I really love this office! I've gotten quite a few inquiries about my dentists and/or inquiries regarding referrals in other areas. Sadly, I don't know any other dentist as great as mine:

I met up with Grace and the kiddies for lunch. Grace has been incredibly kind and helpful during the last couple of weeks (with all my doctor and dentist visits). I am deeply indebted to her. We had a nice lunch and walked over to Tapioca Express for boba. Afterwards, we spent the rest of the afternon and evening at her place.

When the kids went down for a nap, I took a nap, too. I was really tired and my mouth hurt. I discovered burns on my gums from the powerful UV light. *owie!* =(

Tonight Grace and I made taco bar for dinner. Sue, Liv, and Ed joined us. I haven't seen them since Aric left for Taiwan. It seems like everyone is terribly busy these days. Ashlyn and I hung out until close to 11...then we came home.

The pain in my mouth finally subsided. *whew* I did a flouride treatment (as prescribed) and called it a night. It's been a week since Aric left, and I think Ashlyn and I are doing better than expected. At times it does get lonely...especially after Ashlyn goes to bed. I miss Aric very much. I find myself going to bed much earlier these nights. But that's a good thing.
Have a great weekend!
